Biography of Soichiro Honda (1991-1906)
Soichiro Honda, founder of Honda was the son of a skilled blacksmith and mechanic who dropped out of high school in mid-school and founded the world’s largest motorcycle company in 12 years. 40 years old Soichiro, founded the Honda Institute for Technical Research in 1946 to produce small motorbikes.

Kawashima was elected as the president of a newly established US company. When he and only two others went to California to start the company, they rented an apartment for $ 80 a month, which had only one bed. So two people had to sleep on the floor. Then they rented a warehouse in the old part of town and, by hand, moved the boxes containing motorcycles and put in three rows. The floor of the warehouse was also clean and there was room for spare parts. These were things that needed to be done. The year before, Honda in Japan designed and launched the SuperCab 50CC motorcycle, which was widely accepted, with 168,000 of the 285,000 engines sold in 1959.
In the mid-1960s, Honda became America’s number one motorcycle dealer. In 1960, Honda also moved from the motorcycle industry to the automobile industry and designed and marketed the S-360, a four-wheel-drive motorcycle with a roof. The first R&D unit of the company was also established this year.
In 1963, the first S500 sports car in Japan was launched by Honda, and for the first time, the following year participated in car racing. Although Honda did not win the race, the following year, Honda won its first Formula One race. Within these years, branches of Honda were also established in Germany and Canada.
In 1967, three years before the global oil crisis, paying attention to saving on gasoline was at the heart of Honda’s research and operations. So in 1973, Honda installed the first CVCC-free engine on the Civic model car. In 1982, the US Honda, producing 100,000 motorcycles, introduced the first car with the Mark Chord and won first place in the US for diesel cars. Interestingly, Honda was the first Japanese company to begin producing cars in the United States this year, while the company did not produce any cars until the early 1960s. Sales of the Civic in 1975 in the US reached 10,000 units per month. In 1998, CNG-fueled Civic production began in the United States.
The following year, the Honda Accord model achieved the highest sales in the United States and continued for a long time. By 2003, 10 million Honda cars were built in the United States. Research and development
